Derevianko Vitalii
Vitalii Derevianko is a Lieutenant Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Deputy Commander of the 1st Separate Assault Regiment named after Dmytro Kotsiubailo.
He has more than 13 years of military service. A graduate of a military academy, he began his combat service during the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO). He met the full-scale invasion in Sumy region, where his unit was among the first to move toward the state border.
His leadership approach is centered on people and resilience. From the early years of his service—when he focused on improving equipment for soldiers—to today, he works on initiatives aimed at supporting the mental health of military personnel.
He speaks about war as a transformative experience that reshapes not only the army but also the individuals within it.
