Martynenko Oleksandr

Oleksandr Martynenko graduated from the Kharkiv State University Department of Economics. He started his career as a correspondent for the «Oriyentyr DiP» newspaper. He was editor-in-chief of the «Kharkiv News» Agency. In 1992 – 1998, Mr. Martynenko ran the «Interfax-Ukraine» News Agency. In June 1998, he became deputy head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine; later he went on to become press secretary of the President of Ukraine. Since October 2001, he was advisor of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine, secretary of the Presidential Council for Information Policy. Mr. Martynenko was a member of the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council. Since October 2003 to the present day, Oleksandr Martynenko has held the post of Director General of the «Interfax-Ukraine» News Agency.
